Skyy Moore
Skyy Moore Dealing with hamstring injury
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 4:22 PM
Moore left Tuesday's training camp practice due to a hamstring injury, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Analysis: Moore may have been pulled as a precautionary measure, but it does put his availability over the next few days in question. The 2022 second-rounder needs all the reps he can get, as he is competing for a depth spot on the Chiefs' 53-man roster after being limited to just six regular-season games in 2024 due to an abdominal injury. The absences of Moore, Xavier Worthy (head) and Hollywood Brown (ankle) will give Nikko Remigio, Tyquan Thornton and Jason Brownlee the opportunity to get more reps on offense during team drills.
Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy Exits Tuesday's practice
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 12:48 PM
Coach Andy Reid noted that Worthy exited Tuesday's practice after the wideout banged his head, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: It remains to be seen if Worthy ends up in the NFL's concussion protocol, and in turn misses any time, but for now consider the wideout day-to day. Also forced to exit Tuesday's session was fellow WR Hollywood Brown, who is dealing with an ankle injury, per Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site.
Hollywood Brown
Hollywood Brown Tweaks ankle Tuesday
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 12:40 PM
Coach Andy Reid noted after Tuesday's practice that he believes Brown will be fine after suffering an ankle injury during the session, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: That said, Rapoport added that Brown figures to undergo testing to confirm the notion that his ankle issue isn't anything major, but for now we'll continue to view the wideout as day-to-day. The same applies to fellow WR Xavier Worthy, who banged his head prior to exiting Tuesday's practice.
Hollywood Brown
Hollywood Brown Injures ankle Tuesday
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 12:11 PM
Brown suffered an ankle injury during Tuesday's practice, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Analysis: After appearing to sustain a right lower leg injury during Tuesday's session, Brown headed back to the Chiefs' team facility in the front seat of a cart, with coach Andy Reid clarifying afterward that the wideout is dealing with an ankle issue, per Nate Taylor of ESPN.com. For now, consider Brown day-to-day as the team's Aug. 9 preseason opener against the Cardinals approaches.

Hollywood Brown Exits Tuesday's practice
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 10:38 AM
Brown appeared to sustain a right lower-leg injury during Tuesday's practice, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, Brown subsequently headed back to Kansas City's team facility in the front seat of a cart to be evaluated. Consider the wideout day-to-day until an update on his status is provided.
Brashard Smith
Brashard Smith Mixing in with starters a bit
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 12:33 PM
Kansas City's first-team offense featured a "sprinkling" of Smith on Thursday, according to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com.
Analysis: Derrick notes that Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt and Elijah Mitchell got more first-team reps, which shouldn't be surprising given that all three have experience as NFL starters. Smith is merely a rookie seventh-round pick, but he's probably the most natural pass catcher of the bunch and isn't far behind Pacheco in terms of pure speed (4.39 40 at the 2025 Combine). While he may have been disappointed with lasting until the final round of the draft, Smith now has a chance to compete for touches immediately, joining a quality offense with a below-average RB group.
Elijah Mitchell
Elijah Mitchell Getting some first-team looks
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 12:23 PM
Mitchell, Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt got first-team snaps Thursday, along with a "sprinkling" of rookie Brashard Smith, according to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com.
Analysis: It can perhaps be taken as a good sign for Mitchell that he's getting first-team reps, which might instead be cornered by Pacheco and Hunt. Mitchell has a one-year, $2.5 million contract that includes $1.35 million guaranteed, while Hunt has a one-year, $1.5 million deal with $850,000 guaranteed. Pacheco is presumably a lock to make the roster, but everything else is up for grabs in the Kansas City backfield between Hunt, Mitchell, Smith and UDFA Elijah Young. For Mitchell, the biggest challenge is staying healthy, as he played just 16 games over his final three seasons in San Francisco after running for 963 yards as a rookie in 2021. He's apparently made a full recovery from the torn hamstring that put him on injured reserve for all of last season, coming back healthy with a new team and a real shot to compete for touches.
Jalen Royals
Jalen Royals Sees some first-team reps
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 10:47 AM
Royals logged most of his repetitions during Wednesday's practice with the first-team offense, Nate Taylor of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Taylor notes that Royals fared well Wednesday while running routes alongside fellow wideouts Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown. The report adds that the rookie fourth-rounder was often on the field when Rashee Rice wasn't, which is worth noting given the possibility Rice may be suspended by the NFL before the start of the season.
Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley Past knee injury
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 4:47 PM
Wiley (knee) has participated in training camp practices this week, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Analysis: Wiley missed the second half of the 2024 season after tearing his ACL in November. The 2024 fourth-rounder participated in positional drills during minicamp in June, and he has progressed enough in his recovery to increase his workload in training camp. Wiley is battling against Noah Gray and Robert Tonyan for backup tight end duties behind Travis Kelce.
Travis Kelce
Travis Kelce Ready for 13th season
Tue, Jul 22, 2025, 2:47 PM
Kelce participated in Tuesday's training camp practice.
Analysis: In the wake of the Chiefs' loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, Kelce took a few weeks to ponder his playing status for the upcoming season, but on Feb. 27, the veteran tight end confirmed that he planned to return for another NFL campaign. In 16 regular-season games in 2024, Kelce put up a 97/823/3 receiving line on 133 targets, numbers that were below the career-high marks he set in 2022, but nonetheless a pace that kept him firmly on the fantasy radar. After having dropped some weight this offseason, per The Athletic, Kelce remains entrenched as the Chiefs' top tight end and a trusted target of QB Patrick Mahomes, a context that should continue to provide the 35-year-old with a solid target share in 2025.
Rashee Rice
Rashee Rice Full go for start of camp
Tue, Jul 22, 2025, 9:32 AM
Rice (knee) will be a full participant in training camp as he awaits news on a potential suspension, Jenna West of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: "We're going to progress as normal with [Rice]," said coach Andy Reid on Sunday. "He'll go in and take all the reps that he'll normally take." Rice made it back from last year's LCL tear to participate in spring practices, but things haven't been as smooth off the field, where a recent plea agreement for his hit-and-run case presumably means an NFL suspension is coming. Reid said he's aware of the possibility Rice will miss time but doesn't have any idea when the NFL might announce a suspension.
Rashee Rice
Rashee Rice Ruling handed down
Thu, Jul 17, 2025, 11:32 AM
Rice has been sentenced to five years probation and 30 days of jail time (which can be served during those five years) stemming from the wide receiver's role in a multi-car crash that occurred in Dallas during the 2024 offseason, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Now that a ruling on the matter has been handed down, the NFL could expedite its disciplinary process, with Schefter indicating that Rice is likely to receive a multi-game suspension. Rice and his teammates are scheduled to report to training camp on July 21. Per ESPN.com, Rice -- who suffered a torn right ACL in Week 4 last season -- is expected to be healthy once the team resumes practicing, but the 25-year-old's status now will need to be monitored ahead of Week 1 of the upcoming campaign, considering the possibility that league discipline could be on the way.
Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy Expecting more deep throws
Mon, Jul 14, 2025, 3:28 PM
Worthy said last Thursday that he expects the Kansas City offense to provide more big plays this season, Kay Adams of FanDuel TV reports.
Analysis: "Coach [Andy] Reid told us during OTAs Phase 1, 'When you come back, get your hamstrings ready,'" Worthy said last week. "So, we kind of knew that we were going to be going a little deep during practice. We kind of got our bodies and our minds ready for what we're going to be doing in practice." After leading the league with an average of 9.58 adjusted yards per attempt and 8.8 yards per attempt overall in his first season as a starter back in 2018, Patrick Mahomes has seen that number dip in five of the last six seasons, cratering all the way down to a career-worst 6.8 YPA last year. But with Worthy headed into his second season and Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice healthy again, the offense wants to produce more big plays down the field. Worthy is an exciting mid-round fantasy pick, particularly in best-ball formats.
Tyquan Thornton
Tyquan Thornton Building momentum with new team
Thu, Jun 19, 2025, 12:07 PM
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Thursday at the final session of mandatory minicamp that Thorton has had a good offseason, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.comreports.
Analysis: "I like [Thorton]," said Reid, mentioning that the wideout has "got [Mahomes'] trust" and has "gotten some valuable reps here." A 2022 second-round pick, Thorton never managed to put things together across his three seasons in New England, resulting in his being cut last November and joining Kansas City's practice squad. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound speedster has managed to flash during early offseason activities, but his next task will be to keep that momentum going during full-contact drills at training camp in July. The Chiefs have a crowded receiver corps, but if Thorton is able to secure a depth roster spot Reid may be able to make use of his 4.28 speed in occasional designed packages.
Rashee Rice
Rashee Rice Will be full-go for start of camp
Thu, Jun 19, 2025, 10:04 AM
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Thursday that Rice will be a full participant at the start of training camp late July, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: Rice has been a full participant at voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and being fully on track for training camp is confirmation that he'll be cleared for contact. With his health no longer an obstacle, Rice has a clear path to picking up where he left off as the No. 1 wideout for Patrick Mahomes, a role he looked impressive in when he caught 24 passes for 288 yards and three scores across the first three games of 2024, before suffering an LCL tear. Of course, Rice managed that production without having to compete with all of Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown and TE Travis Kelce on the field at the same time. The other shoe waiting to drop is an expected suspension related to Rice's involvement in a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Dallas in March of 2024, but the ongoing nature of his legal situation makes it possible that league discipline won't be enforced until 2026.
Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley Working with knee brace
Tue, Jun 17, 2025, 12:03 PM
Wiley (ACL) is participating in positional drills at mandatory minicamp Tuesday with a brace on his right knee, Sports Radio 810 WHB reports.
Analysis: Head coach Andy Reid said in April that Wiley, who tore his ACL during practice early last November, is doing well in his recovery. It's encouraging that he's already been cleared to take part in individual drills, but the 2024 fourth-round pick may still not be fully cleared for training camp or Week 1. Noah Gray remains positioned as the No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce for Kansas City, so once fully recovered Wiley will likely find himself competing with Robert Tonyan for the No. 3 gig.
Gardner Minshew
Gardner Minshew Throwing at OTAs
Thu, Jun 5, 2025, 12:50 PM
Minshew (collarbone) has been pictured throwing at Kansas City's voluntary OTAs, Charlie Riedel of the Citrus County Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Minshew appears fully recovered from the season-ending broken collarbone that limited him to 10 regular-season appearances (nine starts) with the Raiders in 2024. The veteran journeyman is secure as the No. 2 quarterback behind superstar Patrick Mahomes after signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs in March, with Bailey Zappe and Chris Oladokun battling it out for third-string duties. In the event that Minshew were to see any significant action in relief of Mahomes in 2025, his experience and the presence of pass-catchers Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown and TE Travis Kelce should allow him to pilot coach Andy Reid's offensive scheme to productive ends.
Rashee Rice
Rashee Rice Full-go at voluntary OTAs
Wed, Jun 4, 2025, 1:09 PM
Rice (knee) was a full participant in voluntary OTAs on Wednesday, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Rice missed Kansas City's first week of OTAs due to an illness, but the third-year pro is now back with the team and showing no signs of still being hampered by the season-ending surgery he underwent last October to repair the LCL in his right knee. Head coach Andy Reid previously said in April that Rice was on track to get an essentially complete offseason, while quarterback Patrick Mahomes said in late May that the explosive wideout had been working without limitations, so it comes as no surprise to see him now participating in full. A 2023 second-round pick, Rice followed up his excellent rookie season with a phenomenal start to the 2024 campaign, racking up a 24-288-2 receiving line in Weeks 1-3 before injuring his knee just seven snaps into Week 4. It's possible Rice's ongoing legal situation (and likely suspension) aren't resolved until 2026, but he now faces tougher target competition with Xavier Worthy having developed entering Year 2, Travis Kelce returning for a 13th season and Hollywood Brown healthy and having re-signed.
Skyy Moore
Skyy Moore Taking part in OTAs
Fri, May 30, 2025, 6:18 PM
Moore (abdomen) has been participating in Chiefs' OTAs this week, John Dillon of Chiefs Wire reports.
Analysis: Moore was inactive for the Chiefs' Super Bowl loss to the Eagles due to the injury, but he's healthy again after appearing in just six contests last season. Moore was inactive from Week 8 onward in 2024 and is likely running out of chances in Kansas City as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract.
Isiah Pacheco
Isiah Pacheco Adds weight, looking healthy
Thu, May 29, 2025, 2:53 PM
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Thursday that Pacheco "looks tremendous" at OTAs and has "put on some good weight," Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports.
Analysis: Pacheco missed Week 3 through Week 12 last season due to a broken fibula and looked like a shadow of his usual self when back in action, averaging just 3.4 YPC across Kansas City's five remaining regular season games and three playoff contests. When healthy Pacheco is an explosive, physical ball carrier capable of overrunning would-be tacklers, as demonstrated by his 4.9 YPC and 4.6 YPC averages in 2022 and 2023. An offseason to return to full form should securely position Pacheco atop the Chiefs' running back depth chart, especially in the wake of the team's decision to forego early-round additions to the position in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Chiefs re-signed Kareem Hunt and added Elijah Mitchell in free agency, both to one-year deals, and added Brashard Smith in the seventh-round of April's draft, but all three backs seem more likely to push for complementary snaps than an actual committee if Pacheco can indeed return to 100 percent strength.
